Matchups

Having identified matchups and tables all players should follow pregame action sequence below:

  1. Muster forces: Go over your army list with your opponent;
  2. Mission briefing: confirm Primary Mission, Mission Rule and Deployment in use;
  3. Players check terrain preset and set up objective markers on the battlefield;
  4. Players agree which battlefield edge is the Attacker’s and which is the Defender’s. The players then roll off and the winner distributes the Attacker and the Defender roles - this will determine which player uses which deployment zone in the coming battle;
  5. Select Secondary Missions;
  6. Declare Battle Formations;
  7. Setup and start your clock; (optional)
  8. Deploy Armies. Players alternate setting up their available units one at a time, starting with the Defender. If one player finishes deploying all their units, their opponent then deploys the remainder of their units;
  9. Determine First Turn;
  10. Resolve pre-battle rules and abilities. Players alternate resolving any pre-battle abilities units from their armies have, starting with the player who will take the first turn;
  11. Begin the Battle.

Rulesets

Rules issues troubleshooting guidelines follow this order of precedence: WTC Clarifications > English GW Official FAQs > App with the latest version prior to the rules deadline > English Codex/Index > English Main Rulebook Judge’s ruling is always final. Players are required to proceed with the game according to the ruling provided. Any further claims may be reviewed after the round’s end or after the tournament but game / round / tournament scoring will not be changed retrospectively.

Clocks

Chess clocks must be used - any disputes related to game time must be consulted with TO immediately! Pausing the clock is not allowed. No one other than the players themselves or the judge can interact with the clock.

Round time is organized as follows:

Painting

To put it simply, a painted model has appropriate colors applied to every part of the model and has it’s base painted and based. Please refer to this article for more details: GW Battle Ready

Classic

Constrast

In the tournament with Battle Ready criteria you only get Battle Ready points only if you fully comply with the criteria presented above. In the tournament without Battle Ready criteria you get Battle Ready points regardless.

Penalties

We’d be happy to skip this section since we expect everyone to well-behave and respect each other but there’s a reason for each of the penalties below however negligible it may sound at first glance. The warnings are cumulative which means as soon as you get one, the next offence will be penalized.

General unsportsmanlike behaviour (shouting, swearing, throwing dice, etc.):

Messing with army rules or creatively bypassing rules or unintentional cheating:

Cheating:

Disputes with a judge:

Failure to setup terrain for the next round after the game

Failure to comply with WYSIWYG and/or alternative, conversions and kitbashed models section requirements:

Hasty dice rolling (rolling and removing dice quickly before the opponent can verify the result):

Failure to submit list on time, failure to comply with list formatting guideline or invalid list

The referee team reserves the right to impose additional penalties for the cases not mentioned above as well as address individual cases on a grand scale outside of the tournament
