Tournament Growth

We end the year and close out Quadrum 1 of the Consilium. It was a busy year and I will throw a few numbers together. We are a small but growing community with a solid core of players that show up to most of the tournaments we set up but more importantly are those that show up and make up the bread and butter of our scene and give everyone a good go. We might think also think results were dominated by one or two players like Kirill and Sagi that just seem to pile up the ELO points but in the 9 games in the Quadrum we have have 8 different winners so things are actually a bit more balanced than we sometimes think.

Winners

The ELO system also had a bit of a modernization and a huge thanks has to go to Aleksei who helped with this transition of his well kept system and into the Consilium that simply automated a lot of the work. We also started to apply a decay called Nurgles Rot that started to apply decay scores to those not keeping up at the tabletop. This allowed us a more dynamic system where we didn't have people who have maybe taken a long break sticking around in the list when they weren't playing. The system even takes into a account that after 2 Quadrums(8 months), they are placed in an archive mode so the list you see in the rankings is actually our active player base, which currently stands at 78 players. I think a small part of this is due to the fact that the popularity of the TTS tournaments has helped those who can't always make it to physical games possible to still stay involved in the community.

Top 10

And so we close the year with Sagi leading on ELO with Dima and Dor still holding onto the steps each side of him. We will see in the next year how things start to move as we seem to have quite a bit of movement as our tournaments are really starting to roll in. With the Israel Teams Championships coming fast in January things are not slowing down and we will be going from strength to strength. This is looking like the biggest tournament with 50 players competing across each of the 10 teams that will be there and for the first time we are going to be using 5 man teams so things are growing in heaps and bounds thanks to the amazing support of Dima and Geek Shelter

Player Growth

There will also be rules changes coming in this year as we start to try to help players keep this a sporting and fun place to roll dice. The WTC Team has also started the ball rolling as the team builds up to the WTC and completed a great match that ended in a clse draw between Cyprus. Those lucky enough to have signed up to the Consilium S1R5 might even be lucky enough to come up against one or two of the island boys.

New Players

Wishing everyone plenty of good health and high rolls.
